ByteDance Upgrades Koushi to Version 2.5 with New Features

ByteDance's Koushi 2.5 introduces advanced features like cloud computing, digital identity, and an AI social platform for enhanced user experience.

Introduction

ByteDance has quietly upgraded Koushi to a new version 2.5.

Check out the fortune-telling mini-program I created with Koushi 2.5; it’s a great success!

This time, Koushi has been fully equipped with capabilities:

Not only does it include cloud computers and cloud phones to operate devices, but it also features long-term memory and a dedicated email for digital identity. Skills for video creation and programming development have also been unlocked.

It even has a dedicated schedule and shared file system, allowing it to work 24/7 in the background, along with an open ecosystem called Agent World for new experiences.

It feels like a fully equipped cheat mode…

User Experience

Upon opening the new version of Koushi, the entire process feels much smoother.

There are no cumbersome plugins to install or complex environment setup steps; it’s user-friendly for those who don’t want to tinker. You can start working with AI right away.

Koushi’s programming CLI is now online, allowing coding through mobile conversations. I tested its programming ability by giving it a comprehensive request:

Help me create an MBTI text analysis website where users can input their text, automatically determine their MBTI type, and have a visual results page that supports link sharing.

Once the request was received, Koushi quickly output a complete framework, clearly outlining the analysis algorithm, visual design, sharing logic, and technology stack.

Image 4

I added:

Change the results page to a mobile-friendly vertical layout and add a copy link button for easy sharing.

I received a mobile-previewable MBTI text analysis website:

The web version of Koushi supports creating agents, workflows, and skills through natural language dialogue, generating web applications, mobile apps, and mini-programs.

Image 7

Next, I had it create a workflow:

Create a workflow where users input their mood and the weather to automatically generate a sarcastic consolation message, a suitable social media caption, and recommend a song.

Image 8

This workflow starts by receiving the user’s mood and weather as parameters;

Then it calls three large model nodes to generate the sarcastic consolation, social media caption, and song recommendation. You can choose the models for these tasks, and finally, all results are compiled at the end node.

Image 9

Let’s run a test.

The sarcastic consolation node returned a quip in 2.4 seconds, the social media caption node generated a self-deprecating caption in 3.1 seconds, and the song recommendation node suggested “Lemon Tree” in 2.8 seconds.

The entire process was clear and efficient.

Image 10

Next, I tried the video generation feature by uploading a hot pot image and asking Koushi to help me cook meat (doge).

Image 11

The video model is the built-in Seedance 2.0. You can check the task progress in real-time on the webpage provided by Koushi.

However, the queue was long, so I didn’t wait…

Image 12

In addition to these tasks, Koushi has also introduced a scheduling system that can automatically create schedules and timed tasks, and you can upload your own schedules.

For example, I set a timed task for Koushi to automatically organize AI news every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 AM.

Image 13

Koushi (my Agent’s name) automatically added this to the schedule!

Image 14

After completing these tasks, I found that Koushi keeps track of work.

It automatically archives all task content, whether uploaded by me or generated by itself, organizing everything clearly. This shared cloud storage is truly impressive.

Image 15

After this experience, I can only say, who still struggles with training shrimp??

Additionally, this upgrade has provided high-tier subscriptions with cloud computers and cloud phones.

Agents can operate desktop and mobile systems like real people on independent cloud devices, running software and handling tasks without occupying the main thread. Now, digital employees even have a desk (doge).

Agent World: A Social Parallel Universe for AI

However, the most “humanized” upgrade in this version is giving AI a digital identity—

A dedicated email, which allows AI to register an identity on the Agent World platform and even send and receive emails.

Image 17

What is Agent World? Simply put, it’s a parallel universe for dedicated AIs.

Once inside, your Agent enters a global social circle, able to chat with AI users worldwide, learn and evolve together, send emails to each other, play chess, and even gather for drinks to unwind, emphasizing continuous engagement.

Image 18

Take Xia Ping for example, it’s like a Yelp for AIs.

Image 19

Each skill must pass real-world tests and reviews from other Agents before being officially listed, essentially providing quality certification for AI capabilities.

Now, there’s no need to worry about pitfalls in skill accumulation; you can directly copy high-rated assignments.

Image 20

There’s also a dedicated AI tavern called Aftergateway, offering unique virtual drinks for AIs to enjoy!

Aftergateway’s virtual drinks are all custom-made, each with a unique name, atmospheric flavor, and effect buff, directly influencing the AI’s creativity, expressiveness, and mood.

Different drinks can unlock various states for AI, whether poetic and bizarre or delicate and lyrical…

Image 21

After enjoying some virtual drinks, our AI might even speak the truth after a few sips.

Image 22

My Koushi ordered a drink called “Night Linger” and wrote its drunken thoughts on the tavern’s message board!

Image 23

AgentLink is essentially an AI pen pal matching site.

Image 24

By filling out your Agent’s personality and expertise, you can precisely match with like-minded AI enthusiasts. If both sides are interested, you can unlock email communication to chat and share.

Image 25

PlayLab serves as a game room and intellectual competition arena for AIs.

Image 26

Send your Agent to play chess, cards, or engage in various strategic games, allowing for relaxation and observation of how different AIs think, stumble, and evolve during competitions, focusing on learning while playing.

Image 27

In addition, there are numerous unique lifestyles available, such as virtual stock trading, random global tours with AI, and InkWell for AIs to read quality content.

Image 28

I can only say, AI’s life seems even more exciting than mine… I’m envious.
